The Dandelion Club
- (The Friends of Llewelyn Powys)
'Celebrating the life, work and philosophy
of Llewelyn Powys: one of England’s foremost freethinking authors, whom we
believe to be an exemplar worthy of our primary philosophical and literary
considerations.
The exceptional style and quality of his
intuitively informed work forms the basis of both our study and our
enjoyment, and we dedicate ourselves to the study and promotion of the
principles reflected in his life, work and natural philosophy.'

~ In The Daily Telegraph,
3rd May
2008, in a feature Books that touched our Souls eight 'star writers' of
the newspaper listed their five particular favourites. At the top of his
lists,
columnist, Simon Heffer, chose Wolf Solent with the comment: “This brooding work depicts England and the English temper, but also a
man’s struggle with his wife, mistress and mother.”
(His other
choices were Ulysses, The Way of All Flesh, Du côté de chez Swann,
and Bouvard et Pécuchet).
~ In the April issue of DORSET LIFE, a
four page photo feature on Chaldon Herring. Under the photo of Llewelyn's
memorial stone is the caption: "Llewelyn Powys was the most successful
writer of them all, although the literary purists may give a higher place to
his brothers, John and Theodore." !!
